"The north Thailand hill tribes documented by Paul and Elaine Lewis are the Karen, Hmong, Mien, Lahu, Akha, and Lisu. The Lahu, Akha, and Lisu have common linguistic roots in the Tibeto-Burman family of languages... The Lahu, Akha, and Lisu migrated to Thailand via eastern Burma."
