"Married Jewish women often wore jewelry similar to their Muslim neighbors, and in some areas if southwestern Morocco, such as the village of Tahala, Muslim artisans worked alongside their Jewish counterparts.

 

Jewish women from Tahala layered themselves with a lavish array of ornaments and necklaces of various lengths. Both Muslim and Jewish women from this region strung box-like enameled amulets onto their necklaces in between coral beads and assemblages of pendants constructed from coins. Women also wore numerous oval balls adorned with enamel work, called "tagmut," which clearly served as fertility symbols."
