konyanaganecklace

From the Konyak Naga, northeast Indian state of Nagaland: "Necklace made up of thirteen parallel rows of glass paste beads, punctuated by ten bronze bars. Bells decorate the last row. The piece, which ends in a braided figure closed by a button, are adorned with two sections of conch." "Naga: The Beauty of Dread" by Michel Draguet, general director of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.
 
From the introduction by Pierre Loos: "The book comprises the collection of Anne-Marie Gillon Drowet and her husband Roland. In the early 1990s, they faced the inevitable feeling that all great collectors encounter: the end of magic, of the discovery, the quest.
