  I should have looked at this one first! This shows how the "parts of Armband" are used. Really a unique piece, have never seen this type before! So they go new ways...

  yes it is. i had this idea of armbands for 2 raisons.

  - i wanted to bring new idea to the touaregsmith i work with ( for the markt in the north and exhibitions in europe )

  -a friend showed me one armband from hermes under the name " touareg " he was proud of it and showing it everywhere. i betted with him to do much better and beautiful and original

  It is really unique and a new style, without loosing the traditional forms of the Tuareg jewellery. It is a good idea, looks nice and I can imagine that many young people would love it a lot.

  I think that all Tuareg jewelry is extremely tasteful and high fashion-- it has just enough design and classic shape, I am surprised that more people do not but and wear it with their regular wardrobe.

  @Patricia: of course anyone can wear Tuareg jewellery with any type of dress, but for me it means something else. I wear it because I love the Tuareg people (not everyone, but in general) and their culture. If it were not like this, I would not wear it... it is something like an inner connection with them. I love also their leather works, their dances, their music and riding on camels..

  I didn't mean to insult Tuareg people by mentioning that they have universal good taste. I think because their style is so clean and modern, it would be easier to market the jewelry of modern artists, thus helping the overall economy. I don't think that the majority of people have deep connections to the jewelry they wear, I think that we at this website may be a bit different that way. But for sure the majority of people want to wear beautiful , tasteful jewelry and that is exactly what the Tuareg supply.

  All of you. a huge thank. you have all right in your comments. if we take out the leather and use this silverwork as an amulett you will for sure see it and considere it as traditionel touareg piece, it will be the same if we use it as a pendent or part of necklace.

  the way it is madewith this leather gives the modern touch with authentik ship.the leather is traditionel traited and colored in senegal. i bought as bracelet. it was large and simply made. i cuted it and traited it a bit more.

  together with the silver, it gives this effekt. i could not sell it, my wifes sister was so fascinated from this piece that i offered her it after i took photos

  Pattricia, Eva. the majority of people has now another taste, the jewelry took another directions since years ago, it is not more a work of artists ar artisans. it is just big fabrics full with workers adding pieces together, assisted from industrie machines doing millions of pieces a month.

  in between there is ofcorse a good jewelry made with high quality materiel and workamen for more money ofcorse

  there is ethnic jewelry, based on culture,historic and good work value

  the old touareg jewelry is beautiful, has a big value too and fits every wher but not lot of people know about it and have access to it too

  the new touareg jewelry, if it is new and good, it is expensive and not evryone can efford it. for who are looking after nice jewelry, it is still ok in price.

  some new touareg jewelry, just made in big quantities is not always nice even if the price is good. another way, people have to feed their families, it is the raison why they do a quick work and not always good jewelry to response the actuel market and make some trader happy.
