  • AH - I SEE: IT IS THE SAME OBJECT EACH TIME: FRONT AND BACK!! ALL IN ALL, IT IS OLD, ATTRACTIVE, AND ALMOST CERTAINLY INDIAN. I  WOULD GUESS AN ANKLET (UNLESS THE SIZE MAKES THAT IMPOSSIBLE, BUT THEY OPENED LIKE THIS. *if* THE OBJECT IS SILVER (NOT SILVER-PLATE, BUT IN INDIA IT OFTEN IS SILVER), THEN YOU ARE LOOKING AT SUBSTANTIAL MONEY, THOUGH IT MAY NOT PROVE THE EASIEST OBJECT TO SELL. IF BY ANY CHANCE IF IS SILVER-PLATE IT WOULD BE WORTH A LOT LESS.
  • Had not previously really looked at this well enough: now that I do so with care, I feel 90% sure that this is silver-plate, the silver having largely worn off on the inside. Actually there can be very little doubt that this is what has happened.
  • Hi, have a look at Steven Scott's page he has a very similar anklet / bracelet.  Here the title

19th Century Heavy Cast Brass Egyptian Anklet with much detail including wings, geometric and circular.

  • Anklet from Madhiya Pradesh, India

    Picture of my anklet:
