Palestinian bracelet.

I bought this silver bracelet from down town Amman. The seller told me that he had bought this from an old Palestinian women. Although it is very similar to the Yemeni granulation work but I believe it was made by Yemeni silversmiths in Mecca and sold to Palestinian pilgrims while in Haj. Would love to know more about this bracelet.

  • It is lovely.  I don't know if it is a clue but I have seen multiple bracelets in books on Palestinian pieces which close with this pin design, a pin with a loop and a coin.

  • These Sami are indeed Palestinian and were made and worn in the Galilee, They are called asawir munamname.

  • Very lovely and very interesting!

  • Thank you for confirming my thoughts Nada. Much appreciated.Do you know if they were use to be made in Palestine or elsewhere? Br

  • Very nice piece and also interesting story about how the jewellery  moves from one place to other and links the various cultures even in old times.Very nice traditional bracelet.
