South of Palestine bracelet

A silver bracelet made in Egypt but for the use of Bedouins in the south of Palestine/Sinai. It has motifs of a turtle or some say a scorpion. It is specifically worn by married women and a hole is pierced into the bracelet whenever she brings birth to a child. Usually worn in pairs.

    Hello Sami, Nice Sab'awiya! I've heard that these are frogs of turtles, but never scorpions, but who knows! It's fascinating.

It is nice of you to give such valuable information about the piece it is rather good learning for the reader to know from the piece information about the heritage of the society related to the jewellery posted..
