Jimma beads Ethiopia, metal mix

This is a Jimma bead necklace from Ethiopia, made of metal (not silver). Would have loved to buy one of Ingrid's high silver ones, but my budget is tight.I quite like this one too, although only metal beads. Both items are from EJ members.

  • Eva, hard for me to judge from this photo, but it looks to me as an old one, did you test it for silver?

    Let hope so. Gr. Ingrid.

  • Dear Ingrid, thank you very much for your comment.  No, I did not test it, but I do not think it is silver, at best a mix with a bit of silver.  I got it from Betty.  It is very nice, and possibly old, but the material is not silver.

  • A lovely pic, Eva! There is indeed no or little silver (I did test it and the silver was not high enough to be picked up by the tester). I liked it in the first place because the beads are so well made. Hope you enjoy wearing it :-)

  • Thank  you Betty, I must add that it has advanced to be one of my favourite necklaces, if not my most favourite. I am wearing it lots, lots. A proof that not expensive material makes a thing precious,,   but unexplainable happenings!!!  I just love it!  I am wearing it with a little knot in it( which is very loose and can be moved up and down according to what I feel like).
