I love them all, the gilded piece is rare in this quality. I have occasionally seen them made from metal alloy, but with rather coarse decorations. The Tigrai/eritrean rings are also very beautiful and hard to find. And of course, the Rashaida rings you have are superb. Thanks for sharing!
Betty, I know what you mean, not so long ago I did see them on a fair in Amsterdam and they looked so strange to me and couldn't place them until I realized they must be copies made in Trigrai with a very false guilding look. I haven't been to Ethiopia for many years but i do think that right now that is were they are now making copies of old pieces in a rather rough and rather mean way.
`just like in Oman, old pieces are just not available any more.
they are all lovely! If I could choose one, I would not know whether to choose a filigree or a Rashaida one........
Thank you Eva Baby, I cannot help you to choose, as they all are great and wearable. Like the Tigrai rings p.e. are good to make a necklace with but also makes a good item to string a thin shawl through.
