  • You are really spoiling us Linda..

Thank you for sharing with us your hugephot  database and knowledge

  • Very refined ...
  •  the color of the gold was very pleasing in this one, and good as a belt I might add! You can always use these headdresses for something !
  • I dontknow  when did you have this headress, because in the early 2000's i missed one almost a twin of that, on sale in one shop in RABAT, Morocco.

  • i sold this in 04 or 05 I woud have purchased it in 04 This is a type worn in that particular area of Morocco and would be more than one.  I purchased mine in Markakesh.
  • Now i am pretty sure it is the same one, because when i came back to the shop later he told he sold it to one dealer from Marrakech.

You are right in pointing out that this type was pretty common in south east morocco

  • Interesting you went for (probably) the same piece, both of you - not unusual!
  •  Hi it is hard to believe that in all that time the piece was sitting around ?  It could be same but it seems a bit strange as it was not an expensive piece.  I was told when I purchased on that trip that a friend who I was with came back 6 months later  , and said there was not much else new or different. So with all the traffic there and tourists and collectors it's a slow business. In my mind that place has tens of thousands visiting compared with the clients I have.  It also is that I am willing to pay for good things when I see them and didn't let anything sit while i was there because I know that there are not that many things around. If I had more capitol there wouldn't be much left of any quality there and it's because in some cases the prices are higher there than one could hope to sell them for here that the things are still sitting there at all.  If I didn't have to sell then it would be different and I wouldn't care as much. In some cases thought the dealers there are crazy and the prices don't make any sense in terms of the world market. They are rich don't need to sell it and would rather have it on display.
  • Must REALLY be off to bed now. Found I could not sleep when I was meant to, and decided to look at all these exciting pieces I didn't see before. Thanks Linda - it has proved a rewarding though somewhat tiring experience (so much all at once), and I shall now sleep very, very well.
  • I'm only up to 06 and only posted very small amount. I have yet to post through 011! (just posted comb from 08 though)   I lost all [photos before 02 from a virus  as I never backed up or had two hard drives,  the best things are on transparencies and many I can not post so no one will see them for a while until that collection gets published if ever...
