Thanks for this information about these Tibetan beads being used as ojime.
I did not know that was done outside Japan and China.
Hi, I didn't mean that it was the same practice. What I meant was that toggles were used on pouches, and then there were smoking pipes that had beads on them also. The similarity to Japan is only in that they used decorations in very much the same way as they did as well in China. Most things were decorated with beads, tassels even window tie backs , screens, mats, beddings, hats. All kind of places we don't think of. Even cricket cages had some tassels with beads some times.
