Front, rear and close-up of a traditional festive cap for ‘genç kız’ (= not yet betrothed girls). From the Pomak villages near Biga (Çanakkale prov.), mid-20th c. Lavishly adorned with different types of glass beads, metal (imitation) Ottoman coins, (cotton or orlon) pom-poms and sequins (both metallic and mica).
