Yemeni Lazem

This is a repost with better photography as the original photo turned out too dark. A Yemeni lazem necklace, Jewish made from the early 1900s. With beautifully worked silver filigree and granulation, and amber at the ends. I love the contrast between the refined filigree, and the tribalism of the amber and the arrangement of the strands. 235 grams.

    HI Lynn, what a beautiful pendants on the lower chain. Makes it very festive, and as a extra gift all these amber beads. You must have a full time job finding all these treasures and keeping a good documentation of it.  Doing great. Gr. Ingrid.

    Beautifully arranged. The filigree and the granulation make this piece a gorgeous one to look at.

    This is stunning...I love the granulation and filigree bells too. I am trying to imagine how it would drape when worn.

    Very well put, Lynn - excellent comment on the role of the amber in the overall design (which is also great anyway, and which you have beautifully arranged!). Most pleasing. To me it is another instance of a pie which "works" most magnificently while not worn! Have you actually worn it? It would be interesting to see it that way, too! Anyway - a joy to behold.
