Hi Angelo, Nice piece. The open shield and loops are more Yemeni I think. Am I right to say that it is a new item, because the upper pendants are rather harsh. Just curious. But having mentioned that it is good necklace. GR. Ingrid.
Thanx Ingrid …i believe more Yemen also …u right ..might be new …70's or 80's ..or maybe older and made in a small village with poor tools and clients …signs of use tho …kisses…Angelo

Dear Angelo, this is beautiful. Last year I bought a collection from a gentleman who had a diplomatic post in Yemen in the 1970s and purchased a set of jewelry for his wife, who later wore it with pride in the UK. He described in the 1970s seeing silversmiths working by candlelight in tiny dark rooms. So they were still making traditional pieces for local use in the 1970s at least.
