Two silver gilt women's belt buckles with enamel and corals, from Safranbolu (Pontos/western Black Sea coast in Turkey). Made in 'Rum' (Anatolian Greek) workshops. Late-Ottoman era, 19th century. Top: dated 1837. Width: 30 cm. (Athens, Benaki Museum). Bottom: an auction piece.
