Why separate the discs and take them apart?
dear friends
the item shown by me is not a genuine old Naga piece that would actually have been worn by any nagas like this.
i know it because i have several good illustrated books about their crafts, never seen any Naga shell items or belts strung this way, the orange glass beads are not very old, the designs on each disc are too similar and following exactly the same pattern, such discs were originally used as ear decorations and affixed from the back,but they have never been shown with 4 holes, etc. So i am confident that while they are possibly made by the traditional craftsmen they are only perhaps interesting as single individual pieces for collectors or designers.
however I am open to offers for the whole piece or single discs!
Stefany - you may know.... did the Naga have amber? I have seen a necklace advertised as Naga amber. Both shape and colour of it look Burmese to me.
I just received my very own Naga necklace I will post it tomorrow!
