Close-up of the headgear of a Muslim (Arab) townswoman from Sa'rit (nowadays Siirt). Late-Ottoman, ca. 1870. It implies a large and long silk headscarf, winded around the head and topped by a worked 'tepelik' (metal head cover) made of gilt silver, having a double row of small gold coins hanging on chains by way of dangles.
