Late-Ottoman forehead ornament. NW Anatolia / Turkey.

Traditional ‘alınlık’ (juwel for the forehead, to be attached to a woman’s hat). From northwestern Anatolia. Circa 1900. Silvery alloy, set with red and green glass paste stones. The three small hooks (one in the center and one on each end) made it possible to use it also as a breast ornament. Width: 27½ cm. Purchased in Bursa. (Inv.nr. müç010 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).

Kinda thing belly dancers would love to wear,for the tinkle sounds LOL..very nice piece..thanks for sharing

Lovely piece that certainly looks stunning when worn (no matter whether used as a head or breast ornament).
