...on this old Bulgarian belt buckle still give an impression of its former splendor. Brass, enamel and one broken red glass stone.

    I found two very similar examples here:

    The description says: "Buckles of Ivajlovgrad, late nineteenth century .. metal, castings, inlaid with colored enamel paste and decorated with embossed geometric images... Composed of two parts and fastening plate attached to one side. On the plate were attached colored pebbles [ glass stones?] in special nests."
