  • spectacular!!!

  • What is a bazuband and what is its purpose?

  • @Hi Ingrid, I just tried to find out. At first, Bazuband is a City in Khorassam, Northern Persia. But the Name is applied to a arm-guard (something worn on the (upper) arm for protection (usually containing Koranic verses, but some are also weapons). Perhaps someone else can give us more Info on this.

  • Thank you Eva, so far out for me.  I cannot visualize how it will stay on the arm, I can see it has four loops. Any idea  what the diameter can be.  If it is used as a protection around the upper arms, than many of these items must be heavily damaged and so a piece like this must be rare especially in this condition.  It is a beautiful piece for sure. Gr. Ingrid

  • Fantastic Hillary. Such wonderfully detailed etching...Can I ask you where you got it?

  • Mmm.... Such artistry!

  • Hi Chantal, eBay, mislisted, of course :-)

  • Ingrid, the sides are attached to some sort of band (made of cloth I think) and this will be worn then  around the arm...... I think no-one answered this so far.

  • Thank you Eva,  for the info. maybe i can google it  when I have some open spot.  Still taking care I hope?

  • lucky you. Great find.
