  • This is fabulous Angelo - a true museum piece! Congratulations. Peter
  • Gorgeous, Angelo! And incredibly well-kept! Congrats!

  • Unbelievably beautiful, a true museum piece, a priceless ornament of cultural heritage and best of type.  I am in awe!!!    Here is a photo of it worn as a traditional part of Pirin Sandanski costume in Bulgaria.  Tomorrow I will copy the part of M. Veleva's Bulgarian Costume book which deals with these necklaces with Turkish influence.

Kisses

  • Lynn …looks the same one …same composition a placement of the green and red stone ..on the chocker and on the dangles ….same smith !!!.thanx for posting this picture  …i think i've seen before on internet …but i payed more attention on the belt buckle ..since i was finding some bulgarian belt buckles months ago ..remember ??/

  • It's spectacular.  Keep it well, because it's a true piece of cultural heritage.  :)  I have the pectoral beneath the necklace in the first Pirin photo... with Peter I bet we could make up the full costume! :)

Here is another Pirin lady wearing a variation of this necklace, called "gerdan" as a loanword from Turkish (in turn a loanword from Persian.)
