I love the chain, it reminds me of Middle Eastern, especially Palestinian silver chains. The pendant is interesting, too. Do you now what sort of coin this is?
Dear Betty; Many thanks for your comments. Yes, this region (Albania, Greece, etc.) are using, among others, the same chain work as the Levant. The center coin is some sort of a (recognition) medal. I herewith attach a photo for your reference. The back of the medal says "Al Merito".

IHS is a monogram often used on catholic items since the middle ages.
Originally it’s the representation of the three first letters of the Greek ΙΗΣΟΣ (Jesus): Iota, Eta and Sigma
Later on it became the logo of the Jesuits
