Chest ornament - Albania - Photos

Many thanks for your comments. I bought most of the Albanian items from Albania directly from a brother and a sister separately. Oh, believe me, it was a tedious job. The brother, who had the 3 pectoral pieces, did not know how to operate his PayPal account and we went back and forth for about a month until I was finally able to pay and he was able to ship the items. We both were very happy thereafter... The chocker and another necklace were bought from his sister. She was able to handle the account easy. However, it was definitely their inheritance.

I bought a huge belt from the same area. The gentleman, an American, who sold it to me, mentioned that he has purchased it in Montenegro many years ago. I will clean it (another nightmare!) and post it on EJ this week. I am not posting my jewelry on Facebook as I do not feel comfortable doing so...

All these jewelry items are very old but at the same time also quite delicate. Therefore, I am not too much surprised that there is not much more around. The others simply have not survived...

Oh, I love this one ... a bit less ornate but all the more elegant. Congratulations on finding this Albanian treasure, Peter. Where have you dug it out?
