Interesting, louha or hamsa or both? I was under the impression that the louha did not include the fingers. It was more like a tablet. Are the words hamsa and louha interchangeable?
LOUHA are the wooden planks for the origin to write the Qur'an in Koranic schools.
KHAMSA is the representation of the hand of Fatima daughter of the Prophet which protects against evil
Louha is also used to refer to silver placques which are the same shape as the wooden boards. And true, Khamsa means the had of Fatima. Here is a pic of some louhas which have been displayed here.
