  • Wow! wonderful!  is it true amber? (It Looks fantastic anyway!) The colours are so warm!

  • Beautiful necklace, is this from Ethiopia? The amber beads do look similar and the the two silver Muria beads are Ethiopian and so are the silver Wollo beads as separaters. The color of the amber is really stunning.

  • A beautiful piece, this arrangement is not typical of Ouarzazatte  and as Ingrid correctly observed, these are beads more likely associated with Ethiopia..never the less a fab piece thank you for posting it.

  • Thank you to appreciate this necklace and correct the origin.
It was the outbreak of my collection, I had never seen such a beautiful amber color.
I've bought at the flea market in Paris 30 years ago and my dealer says that he came from Morocco but I had my doubts!

  • Thisis a beautiful piece and a great start to collecting congratulations !

  • sometimes the origins become lost in time, the quality however remains!

The joy of the forgotten origins is that it keeps us busy with study and searching!

  • I am delighted SARAH, to see that our group works and we can learn with others and correct inaccuracies of some merchants.
Thank you all for your knowledge and to share with all lovers of this ART.

  • Why did I notice this fantastic piece only now!?

As for its possible origin I second Ingrid and Sarah. Ethiopia seems a likely origin, but such necklaces were of course also worn in the wider Horn region, especially in Somalia. I like the leather & amber bead closing mechanism.
