  Berberia, a striking looking pc of jewelry. What is the material? Guilded silver? The work is very well done. Rather robust in perfection.  The glass look very much like ruby. Did you check it? Metal and Glass.

  @Ingrid - Yes. This one is mixed metals and nicely cut glass cabochons. The use of glass in Kuchi pieces is common even in silver pieces. You can find below a silver and glass pieces I have.

  Thank you Berberia,  All your pieces looked indeed very colorful and a feast for the eye.  Although your first piece looks more like facet cut and the color more ruby. Isn.t cabochon cut just rounded on the top?

  The upper head decoration is of mixed metals and glass, while the lower necklace is a museum quality high silver necklace with coins from 4 countries, glass stones and turquoises. With kind regards. Peter

  Dear Peter and Berberia.Afghanistan work ( I have seen also some lovely golden necklaces) can be so beautiful.  As both Peter and Berberia are showing.  Not surprising that in your museum piece it shows coins from 4 countries, because having seen some exhibitions they were really a melting pot of trade routes, going back already from the Byzantium time. .

  I find the work in Peter's museum piece shows the same sturdiness in work as the upper piece of Berberia. Thank you both for showing.  One gets such an education and experience  having such close ups of all our beauties with explanations and discussions.  Very good also for new young  collectors who are serious in their collecting.   Gr.
