  A very fine piece - beautiful, well-proportioned design. The piece at the top is interesting and completes the shape very well.

  This was the first one I purchased. Then I had another one like it I got a year later and sold and have had two since that were very nice. The one now for sale is very small by comparison to the scale of this one but is on the original strap.

  I have a couple of these but no where near as nice as the two that you have displayed. Karakalpak jewelry is just so hard to find and I love Karakalpak stuff, the embroidery is incredibly fine. I visited Nukus a couple of years ago and nowhere, expect in the excellent museum, was there any old embroidery or silver to purchase. I imagine I could have found it for private purchase, but did not pursue that route.

  The other one I have listed is for sale. This is mine but the other one has the original strap. They are not easy to find and to date i have had five only in 30 years.  I also had several other types of ornaments from that region but the stuff dried up about 7-8 years ago.  if you would like to see more details of the other one let me know.

  Linda, I think I saw it on rugrabbit -- it is stunning especially with the strap -- but just a bit too dear for me.

  Hi, I have it on consignment so I have a narrow markup. I'll e mail and we can talk. Maybe I can come down more based on what you remember the price was that I quoted you. I can maybe get the consignor to drop a bit but unfortunatly that person is not as concerned for sales as I am!
