Dear Lynn; Many thanks for your comments. I just love such pieces. They truly reflect the personality, believes and superstitions of the wearer. Such beads, buttons, stones, wood and shells are used more in rural areas and can also be observed on the jewelries and veils of the Palestinian Bedouin ladies, who live pretty much their entire life in harsh conditions, hence, can and should only be admired.
