Amir, I see some pink spots on this torque, I have a necklace wich has the same color spots does it have a special meaning?
Hi Marie-Ange, I believe the dots are made with kumkum (also called sindoor), which long ago was used only in its red and yellow forms, but now comes in other colours such as the pink here. It's used during weddings, festivals and pretty much any auspicious occasion in south Asia. It's also what south Asians use for the bindi or dot on the forehead.
Thanks alot Preethi, very good explanation, first I thought a child had been coloring with a marker! lol..
