Ethiopian Silver cross old (Shoa)

Just one Picture of a newly acquired Ethiopian silver cross, small (3,5 cm), silver, old and worn, (I bought it because I liked the two holes on the top...), have no idea what the circle means, the backside is plain.

  • Eva, this is a lovely warm Shoa (Solomonic)cross.  I do not quite know the meaning of the circle, but they do edge them in in smaller form or flattened granulate.Especailly on Dessie crosses.  I do think though, that it is supposed to be the protective eye symbol.
