I just checked Samira Gargouri-Sethom's book, and yes it does say this is a fark. And Edith does have a few wonderful images of such headbands.
I wonder if those dark beads are garnet....
These are usually quite high in price ( I should know-- I have a couple and am a little poorer from those transactions!) I don't think they are really wearable, though, but the price of this one was lovely -- and it looks to be in original , fine condition. Dark red certainly could be garnets.

Patti - your collection is mind-blowing! Not one but a couple of these - you're lucky.
This doesn't look flexible and so yes, probably not wearable, unless one is a Tunisian bride :) Wonder if these are reused or handed on to other family members or just disposed of after being used in weddings....
