  • verry nice Marie, i like a lot

  • beautiful, it looks also comfortable to wear!
  • It is quiet heavy but that does not bother me.....

  • Gorgeous, and so smooth inside. Great find!

I've always wondered how one should interpret 'mixed metals' when purchasing tribal jewellery - does that normally mean a low silver content or no silver at all...?

  • Hi Preethi, when you don't know what the seller means just ask, for me mixed metals is only metals as for others they say silver is also a metal so there could be some silver in it but never much!

This one is probably solid made from aluminium.

  • Preethi.

i understand ( from my own experience) when sellers write mixed metals, means no silver, or silver is so low that you can not test it with the acid.

when it is low silver, means under 600

    my own opinion

  • It is very beautiful and for you it is wearable; it is also ethnic, even if it is made of clay.  So it belongs in your collection of ethnic jewelry and it suits your style when you wear it.  Who cares how much silver is in it?  Unless you plan to 'junk' it, that is not an important issue.  To  'Junk' metal of any kind in America means to sell if for the worth of each kind of metal it contains.  No charge for the intrinsic value of the labor or historic value.  My collection was not acquired on that basis at all.  If a piece of jewelry  is made of brass, clay, aluminum, or synthetics, it is valuable for its beauty and history -- and for the talent of the maker.  But then I am probably not the best person to be advising  on this matter. ;)

  • Dear Anna, I completely agree with you, I bought this one for its beautiful design and not for silver value.  There are a lot of beautiful items made from other materials than silver or gold.  Sadly these days all is sold by grams according silver price even items with very low silver are related to that price wich is rediculas. Thanks for your wonderful comment!

  • This is really a beautiful comment from Anna. Sometimes we stick too much to the value of the material. I also agree with Marie-Ange, that pieces are sold by grams of weight acc. to siler price, regardless whether a piece is looking gorgeous or not ...
