  • This must be a yemeni, south saudi arabia or noerth east africa necklace (maybe parts of egypt as well).

It is not exactely a necklae but parts and beads put together

If you found it in Libya then it is quite usual to fin jewels from south arabia that were brought back by hajj pilgrims as gifts or for trade purposes

  • nice piece and interesting infos. i personaly had few of this necklaces, as the one i have now. i saw some coming from pakistan, arabian and horn of africa, i saw and bought some in algerian sahara and this one i posted comes from tunisia

i personaly add the to otooman influence sample, the work is more yemen or horn of africa. i had only one that was made in northafrica and a semilar one in amuseum too as northafrican. the form is the same, the work, and beads a bit different. i ll check if i have fotos from2506020169?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • I think you may be right Alaa eddine. The main pendant has no hall mark on it, while the pieces are hall marked in Tripoli. This means that pieces were put together at some time to make one necklace ' as you have proposed'.

Thank you for the information Alaa this was very informative and helpful.
