One of my favorite Minority necklaces. Only ever had two examples of this rare style Dong necklace

Photo below shows Dong women wearing stylistically similar necklaces, but so far I only have seen on photos types that are these 3 maybe 4 tiered necklaces. Linda's version is much more eloborate and dramatic. There is actually a very similar example in my Chinese book about the minorities, but only one that they collected in the field and which is in a regional museum there. Truly a museum quality piece!

How is it that what seems such a simple design seems so identifiably Chinese?

I agree, Linda - this is exceptionally good. You remember the big one which Truus and I bought from you, also held together with silver thread? Also very good, though not quite a match for this one!!
