Belt - Macedonia

This belt has fantastic details. The center decorations and rosettes in the corners have been gilded and will show very well after cleaning (I am cleaning jewelry only at my home where I have the corresponding facilities and utensils)...

    It seems a beautiful belt, Peter, but why does it have such a bluish tinge all over? Is that just the way the light was when you took the photo?

    Dear Joost. Yes, this is the light when I took the photo. Also, the belt is tarnished. Once cleaned, it will look gorgeous and also the gilded parts will show much better. With kind regards. Peter

    Spectacular belt!  I absolutely love the little crown shape on top with the tiny cross.  Congratulations Peter!! 

    What kind of method do you use to clean your pieces?

    Dear Lynn; Many thanks for your message. I use something like a soap stone which is biodegradable. One washes the item and then applies the foam of the soap with a sponge before washing the foam off with water. I usually clean my items after purchase but afterwards I only use a cloth to keep the items shiny. With kind regards. Peter
