  • How nice, Akki!

I have also been told about the fact (?) they are being used in the hair (by Thea from Amsterdam) but I am not sure at all. Because Indian hair is not really very use full  for hair beads like the African hair is.

I have bought some of these beads (they had lots and lots of them) in Oman. Also made by Baluchi people there but the dealers did not know in what necklaces they were used.

Oman adorned is also not very clear about the use.

But they are very nice any how!

  • I have seen many of the silver beads before, where are the yellow and black beads from?

  • @Harald The Baluchi are of origin Syrian- or Iranian people not Indians.
Too bad, i think we have many jewelry(beads, bracelets, anklets, etc.), but Not how worn.
Despite being nomads is.....we know almost nothing about them!! Probably a very closed community?
@ Patty, these are Bumble Bee Venetian Trade Beads. I found in Ghana.
  • Hi Harald, I have heard of them as "hair beads" as well.  I think that they were woven onto long strips of fabric and then tied into the hair for ornamentation.

  • Thanks Hillary, it makes sense!
