Thanks so much, Waqar, I was hoping you might respond. Great to learn its` origin too, especially the info. about the ram`s head.
Also I suggested to the seller it might be made up from old components but was told that they did not think so. I could not see that it was made up in any Afghan style I knew. I`m wondering if such pieces might not have been made up to suit western tastes. Twenty years ago it was acquired from someone who had been a British army officer in World War 11. I`m happy to know my suspicions are vindicated!
Would you hazard a guess as to the age of my components?
Frankie, this looks really nice to wear and so good to have the background story. Wish there were more of them... stories, I mean. But I suspect many of them would be unhappy. Not in this case perhaps!
Thank you, Thelma. I think at least the last 20 years of this one`s story have been quite happy. Before that I don`t know...... it`s new to me but I know will be a favourite.
I intend to post a couple of better photos of it soon.
