Dear Raisa; A beautiful example. I have a similar unit also from Linda's version below and enjoy them very much. The other day, I have reserved a Bukharian Belt and 2 Circassian buckles - 1 from the early 18th century. I will post photos once I have received them.

Did you see that there is a very similar belt pictured in the book "A World of Belts", identifying it as Bukharian? I can see that you are a specialist in this field and would appreciate if you could advise in this respect. Is it possible that with trade, etc. this kind of belts could have also "wandered" to Uzbekistan? With kind regards. Peter

Hi Peter ,

my research shows that these can also be Armenian. i have many books on this countries jewelry and they have belts that are identical to this. Also in other books i have on Russian jewelry, these are put into Armenia or other areas of the Caucuses.
