  Amazing work and an unusual design of the buckle. I marvel at the huge variation of designs that can be found in Dagestan - even pieces from Kubachi alone seem to be extremely varied. Thank yu so much for showing all these pieces, Raisa.

  I agree, Betty! And am very grateful to Raisa. I have been posting a variety of buckles on the Facebook page "Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment" from images provided here by Raisa and also Linda Pastorino. Not just from Kubachi or even from Dagestan - though the majority are Dagestani - but also elsewhere in the Caucasus. Delightful!

  Some of my comments were actually made for this piece (above), before the one below, with all its details, was posted. But no matter, they are both fine! Though all in all I prefer the one above as a very "authoritative" piece.
