as written under picture 1, these rolls contain either texts from the Bible, or magic verses / drawings to protect its owner. Here is another such example (photo by the seller, I have not opened mine).

  • Very interesting and nice too. Had never seen before
  • @Thank you Akkie, I have never seen them before either, that means, until I started to be interested in Ethiopian cultures and items.

  • Great document. So nice to be able to see it. You do find some interesting treasures........

  • Eva, sorry to highjack your pic. but could you check 221169158835 in your Rietberg museum catalogue (the one I never managed to get....yet)......Is it Tuareg? Thanks +++++++++

  • Chantal  : just asked my husband, because I was sure, it is not TUareg. He said immediately, it is peul (Fulani)

    Hope it helps.

  • No, it is not in the Rietberg catalogue, I have never seen such a bracelet being Tuareg! As said, my husband said it is Peul.

  • Thanks Eva. Tell him I am very grateful for his expertise.............I did like this bracelet!

  • @Chantal: I told him. I mean, if you like it very much, you can buy it just the same....... Fulani are a very interesting Ethnical Group in Mali, Niger, etc......... (among them I find the Woodabe the most interesting, remember our leather belts!) Well, it is up to you, I go soon to bed....... good night

  • Well.............am thinking about it!  Good night!
