Mystery pendant

Any help in identifying what it is and where from would be appreciated. It looks like something precious was hidden there... opium? Perfume?

  • It is a 'perfume bottle' from Afghanistan, i think. They come in different sizes . The form is very beautiful.
  • Thank you Akkie

  • @Nada, I have almost the same type of pendant. Only differ in style. I can try to take a photo?
  • @Waqar, also i have of this form an enamel pendant of Multan. So Pakistan have this too?
  • Here is a qajar perfume.urn-3:HUAM:CARP01360_dynmc?width=560&height=560

  • Here is a silver Indian paisley or mango pendant ( from Girladorned)$T2eC16V,!yUE9s6NEld+BRO7blTvZg~~60_57.JPG

  • Here is an ambergris pendant from Morocco.images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTMiikIwfEQ-9bm577YQnYnUdIX62oDHTXD3G1L2FCz5oP8MGnLvg

  • Except for the chains I think it looks more like an ambergris pendant than anything else -- of course we do not know the size-- these pendants are quite small while the mango pendants are usually larger.

  • But, after examination, I can see that the inside structure of the ambergris pendants is much different from this one which leads me to believe it is not one of those -- nor does it really resemble any of the other pics I posted. So, it is a mystery to me still.

  • Yes, the opening is similar . So this does indicate an afghan origin.
