Yemen Silver Necklace Chain Mail and Granulation

The basic web for this flexible headband, choker or necklace is woven in silver chain. On top of that web the artisan placed a layer of diamond shapes smooth pieces alternating with granulated pieces. Then on the bottom of the silver chain web he attached smooth rectangles of silver short and hinged in a way that allows flexibility in the piece. The end pieces are also works of art in granulation. Ca. 1900
