  • Great purchase....it even looks old .Congratulations, great find.

  • Love this ring!!!

  • very nice! special in its beauty. Probably it is one of these mosque rings. Looks like excellent work and quality (good silver).

  • This one looks pretty old and has a very good silver content.  I have never seen this style or maybe never realized where it was from exactly. Very high structure. Were these men's or womans rings?

  • Actually more often worn as a sole pendant on a cord.
  • yes , now I recognize it to be more related to cord or hair worn.. similar to some of the Moroccan ones with the protrusions.

  • beautiful mosque ring

mostly from mopti and djenne. have the mosque form as eva wrote and called mosque or quba rings.

because of the mali situation, thausends of people and sellers went to burkina faso and countries arround and started again thier life theres. it is usual now to find mali or sahara items in burkina faso more than before

  • Ait Ouakli: yes, of course, you are right. Some of my relatives are now also in Burkina. But many went also to Niger. I hope they can soon return and live again in their proper homes which had been occupied by foreign intruders from the terrorists (Jemen, Afghanis, Nigerians, Algerians, etc.).

  • Thanks all.

I had no idea these were used as pendants - will give that a try. The person I bought it from said it was vintage - about 40 years old or so, but that was her guess. She purchased it from a Malian trader some years ago.

  • eva. it is not a place for me to write about politic or accuse some religion , country or population.

it is not ( jemen, afghanis, nigerians,Algerians, etc ) it is some counries stronger than this ones and it is prepared since years. this counries are now there and doing again the massacres they are used too and known with
