  This bracelet is recent find which I believe to be an Egyptian-made bracelet worn in the Hebron region. You comments and opinions are highly welcome as I do not know much about jewellery from this region. If it had not been for our recent discussion of Palestinian pieces I might have never discovered it.

  Hi Betty, Just for comparison.  The bracelet below is very high grade silver and has the same motifs as yours but with no stamps.

  I do have some Egyptian cuffs, and are getting them for several of my family.. I love the silver quality .

  A beautiful piece and photo indeed Betty ! As mentioned, these were made in Egypt and worn widely in southern Palestine. They come in different grades of silver content, either 60% or 80% , you can find this in Arabic numbers on the hallmark. Congratulations Betty. Br, Sami

  Thank you everyone for your kind comments and references. I discovered this bracelet having seen yours on this forum, Sami :). I also like Jose bracelets: its great to have a pair.

  Unfortunately the hallmark is hard to read. I bought is as a "metal cuff" - Will post a close up of the stamp below (I can detect the lotus, meaning its a post-1946 piece; and make our one more letter -which I assume is the year; my guess would be the silver content is 600/1000, but I cannot read it ...)

  That's great to know that my post got you more interested in Palestinian jewlery :) the hallmark is not very clear, I can see an Arabic letter on the right and the lotus flower on the left, I would second your thoughts in regards to the silver content being 600/1000 which should read - in Arabic numbers-٦٠٠ . These bracelets also come in range of weights , I ve seen then range from 80 to 140 grms, hold on tight to this Betty and I hope you will get lucky in pairing it up. Br, Sami
