  • This is really incredible.. love the hands and the fluidity of the embroidery, never seen these for sale here.

  • Wonderful reproduce of symbols. I like it.
  • Hello Linda, these costumes are embroidered in families and 7 different  dress are use for the Bridal wedding day, each region possesses its specific costume.
Embroidery is silver gilt and family spent a fortune for marriage

  • These costumes looke expensive. Do certain families borrow items or hand down from generation to generation or do they create new each wedding?   Have things changed there now ie wearing western type wedding items or has this tradional garment been retained?

  • Hi Lanajnaj:  If you ever come across a lady doing the embroidery on one of those large wooden frames it would probably be very interesting for those of us interested in costumes.  I had never managed to get a photo of someone doing the embroidery, but if I ever go back to Tunisia, it is on my list of things to do!  I would also like to get a photo of a lady tatting lace, for which the Tunisian ladies are justifiably famous.
