  • I wonder if they are Tuareg or bangles from the Saharan people who live in close conjunction with them. i have heard that the Tuareg do not use enamel whereas the Saharaoui do. It is one way to tell the difference between the popular tchat tchat necklaces that they both wear.

  • I have always thought of these as Saharaoui as well Patti.  One finds them in Southern Morocco quite frequently, as well as rings of similar design.

  • Patti. you are right with sahraoui. could also be south marocco as hillary mentionned. it is actualy difficult to make a diffrenece between the south marocco and sahrawi because it is one earth

  • Yes, I agree they overlap. The technique can be also found in rings from Southern Morocco and Sahara. Not true enameling but rather some sort of paint or inlaid work.

  • The work is a very dense enamel as far as I am aware , and Saharwi is spot on, these are found between Goulmine and Laayoune.
    Nice set of bracelets less common nowadays.
    You always present lovely items Berberia , and beautiful photography too.

  • i agree with berberia regarding the color it looks enameling but it is not. it is what we can find actualy in any home . the black color is commun in south northafrica, westafrica and tuareg
