The physical impact is something very powerful which many comment on after receiving their copy. This is just one of those instances where I think a book "has it" over anything we could have done on the internet. I say this as someone who has recently published a truly vast scholarly work in the area of English Renaissance literature on-line. For that purpose, the new technology proved pretty well ideal, as it enables readers to link several matters with impressive speed, and allowed me far more content than a hard copy version would have done.
