  • Did you create this? It is wonderful.
  • Yes, Patricia, this is my creation. I took some favorite hamsa pendants and used the coral, amber and glass beads from an old broken Moroccan necklace. Where possible, I kept the beads in the original stringing order to try to preserve the energy of the original piece.
  • Love the hamsas! I can see you have an impressive collection despite the fact that you have not yet visited Morocco. You told me you found things in FRance, are you an online buyer as well?
  • I envy anyone who can find such constituent pieces outside of N. Africa these days.

These are put together with such skilfull aplomb that, had I not known, I would have thought them original pieces. Really skilfully strung and lovely, Toya!

  • Thank you for your kind words, Frankie. The bottom necklace was made from an original old Berber necklace that was not wearable. I tried to keep the beads in their original order while adding my favorite hamsas. I wish there were more original necklaces to be found!

  • I heartily second you in your wish, Toya. Where have all the old necklaces gone? Are they being hoarded (as I would probably do if I could) or broken up to be sold as parts? There are often single amber beads for sale. Might this be why I wonder.

  • Adore both these necklaces Toya - beautifully designed and fantastic khamsas.
