I envy anyone who can find such constituent pieces outside of N. Africa these days.
These are put together with such skilfull aplomb that, had I not known, I would have thought them original pieces. Really skilfully strung and lovely, Toya!
Thank you for your kind words, Frankie. The bottom necklace was made from an original old Berber necklace that was not wearable. I tried to keep the beads in their original order while adding my favorite hamsas. I wish there were more original necklaces to be found!
I heartily second you in your wish, Toya. Where have all the old necklaces gone? Are they being hoarded (as I would probably do if I could) or broken up to be sold as parts? There are often single amber beads for sale. Might this be why I wonder.
