  • I have for long been a fan of these. In Australia, there used to be a fair few of these some 20-30 years ago - but no longer. Those of my contacts who travel regularly to Southeast Asia and buy there find pickings slimmer and slimmer, if quality is to be a criterion. After much Thai jewellery had been sold off no later than the 70s-80s, there was something like a second wind of Laotian pieces coming in in some real quantity - and then often very cheaply - in the 90s, with the articles much the same, in many cases. The quality of the silver, and of the work, was usually very good, from both countries. But all that seems long ago now. We certainly profited greatly from the Laos wave, and all the pieces we bought then now look dirt-cheap.  These pins are delightful, and aver very much worth having.
